In the politician’s opinion, it will only lead to more casualties, first of all, on the part of Ukraine. He said this on the air of Radio Kossuth.
Orban called the conduct of large strategic offensives a “bloodbath” because the attacking side suffers far greater losses than the defending side.
“Conducting large strategic offensives is a bloodbath. Even someone like me, who has only a year and a half of experience in the army, knows that the attacking side suffers three times as many casualties as the defending side. Before the Ukrainians launch a counterattack, we must do everything in our power to achieve a ceasefire and start peace talks,” – the Hungarian prime minister said.
Earlier, Oran expressed his fear that any of the EU member states would send their troops to Ukraine.
He said this at the opening of the spring session of the national parliament.
Orban expressed concern that “the whole of Europe is sliding step by step towards war”. According to him, EU countries are already sending tanks to Ukraine, discussing the transfer of fighter jets, and “if this continues, there will be those who want to send troops to Ukraine”.
