Six members of the filming crew of the movie “Gladiator 2” were injured due to an explosion on the set in Morocco, reports Variety.
According to the publication, four people who suffered burns are still in the hospital. None of the cast members, including Ridley Scott, were injured.
“The security and medical services on-site were able to quickly take action to ensure that the injured received immediate assistance. All of them are in stable condition and continue to receive help,” project representatives said.
The Sun reported that a ruptured gas pipeline may have been the cause of the ignition.
In February, the release date for the sequel to the movie “Gladiator” was announced as November 22, 2024. Actor Paul Mescal (known for the series “Normal People”) will be appearing in the second installment. The sequel’s storyline will take place many years after the events of the first film, which was released in 2000.
It was later reported that Barry Keoghan, the star of the movie “Dunkirk,” lost the role of Emperor Septimius Geta in the blockbuster’s sequel due to a busy work schedule.
